Royal Enfield Launches Classic 650 in India, Starting at ₹3.37 Lakh
The Classic 650, built on Royal Enfield’s 650cc twin-cylinder platform, combines heritage-inspired design with modern elements. It is available in four colour options, with prices ranging up to ₹3.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).
Royal Enfield has introduced the Classic 650 in India, expanding its lineup in the mid-size motorcycle segment. The new model is priced from ₹3,37,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai) and is now available for bookings, test rides, and purchase across the country.
The Classic 650 is available in four colour options: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. The Hotrod variant, featuring Vallam Red and Bruntingthorpe Blue, is priced at ₹3,37,000, while the Classic variant in Teal is priced at ₹3,41,000. The Chrome variant in Black Chrome is available at ₹3,50,000.
The Classic 650 retains Royal Enfield’s signature design language while incorporating modern elements. Built on the company's globally recognised 650cc parallel-twin platform, the motorcycle is designed to offer a balance of performance, comfort, and style. It features a dual-seat setup, with an option to remove the pillion seat and rack using a single-bolt mechanism. The headlamp and front indicators come with polished aluminum and chrome finishes, while the teardrop-shaped fuel tank and nacelle design maintain the brand’s signature aesthetic. A new LED headlamp, along with the traditional pilot lights, further enhances the classic look.
B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Limited and CEO of Royal Enfield, described the Classic 650 as a blend of the brand’s heritage and modern engineering. He stated that the motorcycle offers a refined and capable riding experience, appealing to those who appreciate the Classic series but seek more power and versatility.
The Classic 650 is equipped with wider tyres, a well-balanced chassis, and a Showa suspension setup at both ends to improve stability and ride quality. The 650cc twin-cylinder engine provides strong low-end torque, making it suitable for highway cruising and city commutes. The engine is designed for smooth performance with minimal vibrations, even at higher speeds.
A digital LCD dash unit provides essential information, including an odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, service reminder, gear position indicator, and clock. Royal Enfield is also offering a range of accessories under Classic and Classic Tourer themes for further customization.
