Olectra Greentech has introduced 35 air-conditioned electric buses in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to support the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation's public transport network.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis formally inaugurated the vehicles on November 1, 2026, at the Divisional Sports Complex in the city. The fleet will be operated by Evey Trans, with commercial passenger services scheduled to begin on Monday across urban routes.
The 9-metre electric buses feature CCTV cameras, digital destination boards with integrated passenger announcement systems, vehicle location tracking, USB charging ports, door air curtains, and digital instrument clusters.
"With 4,500+ Olectra electric buses on the road across more than 55 cities, covering over 750 million green kilometres, we believe the true measure of progress is not just the number of buses deployed, but the positive impact they create on everyday mobility, passenger experience and the environment," said Mahesh Babu, Managing Director, Olectra Greentech.
With the new deployment, Olectra Greentech's operational nationwide footprint stands at over 4,500 electric vehicles deployed across more than 55 cities.
