Michelin has opened a new Michelin Tyres & Services (MTS) store in Kanpur, in collaboration with local retail partner HJ Wheels, as part of the company's continued expansion across Uttar Pradesh. The outlet, located in Harsh Nagar, is aimed at improving access to Michelin's products and services for customers in the city and surrounding region.

The store stocks Michelin's full range of passenger car, SUV and two-wheeler tyres, including the Primacy, Pilot Sport, Latitude Sport and LTX Trail lines, alongside a range of tyre-related services and automotive accessories available under one roof.

Commenting on the launch, Michelin India Managing Director Shantanu Deshpande said Kanpur represents an important part of the company's growth plans in North India, citing the city's automotive customer base and rising demand for premium products. He added that the company is preparing to introduce passenger car tyres manufactured in India as part of its broader strategy to serve local consumers.

The press release describes Kanpur as one of India's oldest industrial hubs, currently undergoing change driven by new expressways, growth in electric and advanced manufacturing, expanding urban infrastructure, and increasing demand for premium vehicle ownership. HJ Wheels, which traces its history in the city's automotive aftermarket back to 1989, has been Michelin's long-standing partner in the market.

Michelin is a French tyre and materials manufacturer headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, operating in 175 countries with a workforce of roughly 129,800 employees.
