Michelin Opens New Tyre Store in Jodhpur in Partnership with Sushil Tyres
The 1,800 sq. ft. facility on Chopasani Road offers passenger car tyres alongside wheel alignment and balancing services, expanding Michelin's retail network in Rajasthan.
Michelin India has opened a new Michelin Tyres & Services (MTS) store in Jodhpur, marking the French tyre manufacturer's latest step in expanding its retail presence across Rajasthan. The store, located on Chopasani Road, was inaugurated by Prashant Sharma, National Sales Director at Michelin India, on 18 May 2026.
The facility spans 1,800 sq. ft. and carries Michelin's full range of passenger car tyres. In addition to tyre sales, the store is equipped to provide wheel alignment and balancing services, positioning it as a combined retail and vehicle care outlet.
The store has been set up in partnership with Sushil Tyres, a local automotive retailer with over four decades of presence in Jodhpur's aftermarket. Founded in 1984, Sushil Tyres has built a customer base in the city over the years. Under this arrangement, Michelin brings its product range and brand standards while the local partner contributes market familiarity and existing customer relationships.
Jodhpur is Rajasthan's commercial centre and one of the state's faster-growing cities. Popularly known as the Blue City, it has seen steady infrastructure development in recent years alongside growth in tourism and private vehicle ownership. These factors have contributed to rising demand for automotive products and services in the region, making it a point of interest for organised retail players in the sector.
The Jodhpur opening is part of a wider retail expansion that Michelin India has been pursuing across the country. The company has also indicated plans to introduce passenger car tyres manufactured domestically in India, though no specific timeline or production details have been disclosed publicly.
Michelin, headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, was founded over 130 years ago and today operates across 175 countries, employing approximately 122,600 people.
The company's business spans tyres for passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, aircraft, and construction equipment, as well as polymer composites used in industries ranging from healthcare to low-carbon energy. Michelin is also the publisher of the MICHELIN Guide, its longstanding restaurant and hotel rating series.
