MG India Commences Production of Majestor SUV at Halol Facility

Pre-bookings for the premium SUV have also been opened for customers.

JSW MG Motor India has commenced the production of its new premium SUV, the MG Majestor, at its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat. The automaker categorises the new model as the first D+ segment SUV in the domestic market.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine that generates 215.5 PS of power and 478.5 Nm of torque. The drivetrain is equipped with an advanced four wheel drive system featuring ten distinct off road modes and crawl control functionality. The manufacturer stated that the model includes segment first triple differential locks across the front, rear, and centre axles to improve traction on challenging terrains.

The SUV offers a ground clearance of 219 mm and a water wading capacity of 810 mm. The vehicle also integrates Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to enhance active safety and driver control. Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director at JSW MG Motor India, stated that the Halol plant utilises stringent quality systems to ensure the new model delivers high standards of durability and performance.

The company has opened customer pre reservations for the vehicle at an initial booking amount of Rs 41,000. The model is expected to have an ex-showroom price of Rs 40 - 45 lakh depending on the variant, and is being offered with a comprehensive ownership package that includes a five year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and five labour free services.
