Matter Aera Electric Motorbike Now Available on Amazon India
The Aera electric motorbike becomes available through Amazon India with festival benefits of up to ₹50,000, making advanced electric mobility more accessible to customers nationwide.
Electric vehicle manufacturer Matter has announced that its Aera electric motorbike is now available for purchase on Amazon India, expanding the distribution channels for the geared electric two-wheeler. The availability coincides with Amazon's Great Indian Festival, offering customers substantial benefits on the purchase.
The Aera is being offered with benefits of up to ₹50,000, bringing its effective price to ₹1,55,826 ex-showroom. This pricing strategy aims to make the electric motorbike more accessible to a broader range of consumers during the festive shopping period.
Founded in Ahmedabad in 2019, Matter Motor Works has positioned the Aera as India's first geared electric motorbike. The vehicle features a 4-speed HyperShift manual transmission system, which the company states is unprecedented in the Indian electric vehicle market.
Technical specifications include a liquid-cooled powertrain designed for Indian traffic conditions, a 5kWh battery pack with IP67 certification, and a certified range of up to 172 kilometers on a single charge. The motorbike accelerates from 0-40 km/h in 2.8 seconds and operates at an efficiency rate of 25 paise per kilometer.
The Aera comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard that provides navigation, music control, ride data, and over-the-air updates. Safety features include dual disc brakes with ABS, telescopic front suspension, and dual rear suspension systems.
Matter's decision to sell through Amazon represents a departure from traditional motorcycle retail models. The partnership allows customers to purchase the vehicle through digital channels with standard e-commerce conveniences including doorstep delivery and digital payment options.
Matter has filed over 375 patents, with 82 granted, covering various aspects of electric vehicle technology including powertrain systems, battery management, and charging infrastructure.
The availability on Amazon is expected to expand the reach of electric motorbikes to customers who prefer online purchasing platforms, potentially accelerating adoption of electric two-wheelers in the Indian market.
