Net Sales Rise 36%, Profit Falls on Raw Material Costs

Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a 36% increase in net sales to Rs 49,959.1 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2026-27, up from Rs 36,620.6 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Net profit for the quarter ended June 30 stood at Rs 3,352.1 crore, down from Rs 3,758.1 crore in the year-ago quarter, impacted by escalating raw material costs and supply disruptions linked to regional conflict.

Domestic Market Share Hits 41.2% as Kharkhoda Plant Ramps Up

Total vehicle sales volume grew by 29.3% year-on-year during the quarter, supported by the commissioning of the company's second manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda. Domestic small car sales rose by 34.1%, SUV sales expanded by 44.6%, and export volumes increased by 28.6%. The company's domestic market share increased by 2.3 percentage points to reach 41.2%, while network inventory levels closed the quarter at approximately 13 days.

Board Approves Rs 561 Crore CBG Investment

Alongside its financial results, the board of directors approved an initial investment of Rs 561 crore for four Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) manufacturing projects. The board plans to evaluate further expansion in CBG production following the operational assessment of this initial phase.
