Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced the inclusion of Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) across its entire passenger vehicle product portfolio.

The Alto K10 and S-Presso are the latest models to receive this safety feature, making ESP standard on all Maruti Suzuki cars. The company has implemented this change without increasing the prices of these models.

This move reflects Maruti Suzuki's effort to make advanced features more accessible to customers, aiming to provide both value and enhanced safety. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at MSIL, stated that this initiative aligns with the company's goal to democratise advanced features and increase the value proposition of their vehicles.

The standard safety suite on Maruti Suzuki vehicles now includes ESP along with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, engine immobiliser, HEARTECT Platform, and collapsible steering column, among other features.

The Electronic Stability Program+ system works to counteract a vehicle's skidding movements, helping to keep it on its intended path. It integrates the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC). The system uses various sensors to measure the vehicle's movement, processes this data through an electronic control unit, and calculates adjustments to the vehicle's trajectory to enhance stability and control.
