Mahindra Reports 13% Growth in Domestic Tractor Sales for June 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business recorded domestic tractor sales of 51,769 units in June 2025, marking a 13% increase from the 45,888 units sold in the same month last year. Total sales, including exports, reached 53,392 units compared to 47,319 units in June 2024.

The company exported 1,623 tractors during the month, representing a 13% growth over the previous year. For the year-to-date period ending June 2025, Mahindra sold 129,199 tractors domestically, a 10% increase from 116,930 units in the corresponding period of 2024.

Veejay Nakra, President of Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra, attributed the growth to cash flows from Rabi crop harvesting and widespread monsoon arrival across most regions. He noted that improved rainfall patterns have supported land preparation activities for the upcoming Kharif season.

The company cited record foodgrain production in rice, wheat, and pulses, along with government initiatives aimed at improving farmer incomes, as factors expected to sustain tractor demand in coming months. The industry posted overall growth in June 2025, according to the company's statement.

Mahindra holds a leadership position in India's farm equipment sector and claims to be the world's largest tractor company by volume. Founded in 1945, the Mumbai-based conglomerate operates across multiple sectors including automotive, agriculture, and financial services, employing 260,000 people in over 100 countries.

The farm equipment segment represents a key business unit for Mahindra Group, which has maintained focus on rural prosperity initiatives alongside its urban-focused operations in real estate, hospitality, and information technology services.
