Mahindra Powerol, a division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., has emerged as India’s leading diesel genset manufacturer in FY25, overtaking the long-standing market leader. According to the DG Tracker report by Frost & Sullivan, Mahindra Powerol secured a 23.8% market share by volume, contributing significantly to the industry’s cumulative sales of 1,51,634 units.
A major factor in this growth was the company’s CPCB4+ compliant gensets, developed to meet updated emission norms. Additionally, Mahindra Powerol maintained its dominance in the Telecom sector, holding over 55% market share for 15 years, while expanding its presence in the Retail segment, further strengthening its position.
Sanjay Jain, Senior Vice President and Business Head, Mahindra Powerol, highlighted the company’s focus on innovation, reliability, and customer needs: "Being recognised as the number one player in India’s genset market reflects our continued focus on innovation, reliability, and meeting customer needs. Our leadership in the Telecom sector, expansion in Retail, and readiness for CPCB4+ norms have all played an important role in this journey.
