Mahindra brings dolby atmos to BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs
Mahindra becomes the first Indian automaker to integrate Dolby Atmos in its BE 6 and XEV 9e SUVs, offering an immersive in-car audio experience powered by 16 Harman Kardon speakers and advanced technology.
Mahindra has announced the integration of Dolby Atmos technology in its Electric Origin SUV models, BE 6 and XEV 9e, marking Dolby’s first collaboration with an Indian automaker. This partnership introduces an advanced in-car audio experience for Mahindra customers, allowing them to enjoy immersive sound through Gaana, the streaming platform integrated into the vehicles’ infotainment system.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e are equipped with 16 Harman Kardon speakers, offering a high-quality audio setup. The system includes three-way speakers near the front seats featuring a tweeter, mid-range driver, and woofer. The center utilizes Harman’s patented Unity Speaker design, while the rear surround speakers deliver mid-range sound. Additionally, a subwoofer and two ceiling-mounted speaker drivers contribute to an immersive cabin audio experience, enhanced by Dolby Atmos technology.
Dolby Atmos provides a multidimensional listening experience by delivering sound with clarity, depth, and precision. This technology transforms the in-car environment into a dynamic entertainment space, allowing users to engage with music, podcasts, and other content in a more detailed and immersive way.
Karan Grover, Senior Director of Commercial Partnerships for IMEA at Dolby Laboratories, highlighted the potential of this collaboration. He stated, “Dolby Atmos in Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e redefines in-car entertainment, enhancing the journey by transforming the cabin into a space where consumers can connect more deeply with the content they love.”
R. Velusamy, President of Automotive Product Development at Mahindra & Mahindra and Joint Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, remarked, “The BE 6 and XEV 9e reflect Mahindra’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences. By incorporating Dolby Atmos, we are raising the bar for in-car entertainment, making every journey immersive and enjoyable.”
