L&T Secures Major Road Development Contract in Dubai

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), one of India's leading multinational conglomerates, announced today that its Transportation Infrastructure business vertical has been awarded a significant contract for road development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The project involves the comprehensive improvement of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street as part of Phase-1 of a broader road development initiative by UAE authorities. The contract encompasses upgrading the existing road corridor that stretches from Emirates Road (E611) to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311).

Project Scope

The infrastructure development will see the current two-lane dual carriageway expanded into a four-lane dual carriageway in each direction. This expansion aims to enhance network capacity and improve traffic flow in the rapidly growing emirate.

A centerpiece of the project is the construction of a major structural interchange at E311, engineered to facilitate seamless traffic movement across all directions. Beyond this interchange, the corridor will be extended with a new four-lane dual carriageway along Latifa Bint Hamdan Street.

Additional features include a dedicated interchange designed to enable U-turn movements and provide improved access to developments on both sides of the corridor. The entire project is scheduled for completion within 36 months.

Larsen & Toubro is a USD 30 billion Indian multinational corporation engaged in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services. The company operates across multiple geographies and has maintained leadership in its major business lines for eight decades through a customer-focused approach and commitment to quality.

According to L&T's classification system, this contract falls under the "significant" category, which encompasses projects valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore.
