Jindal Mobilitric to Begin Commercial Operations with R40 E-Scooter, Targets ₹350 Crore Revenue by FY28
The two-wheeler venture establishes a vertically integrated production ecosystem in Gujarat to support its nationwide retail network expansion.
Jindal Mobilitric has announced it is set to commence active commercial operations with the rollout of its first electric scooter model, the R40. The company said that the two-wheeler is entering the final phases of regulatory homologation, with factory dispatches slated to begin this month pending final administrative clearances.
Amit Agarwal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Jindal Worldwide Limited, stated that Jindal Mobilitric expects to generate a turnover of approximately ₹100 crore in the 2027 fiscal year, climbing to ₹350 crore by FY28, citing an "encouraging order book and an expanding dealership network."
Ahead of the commercial launch, the firm said that it has built an initial order book of approximately 1,000 units through its early distribution network. The company plans to leverage its existing 35 active dealerships across India to scale its sales footprint, targeting an expansion to 100 corporate retail locations over the next 12 months.
To support the product rollout, the company has also set up an integrated manufacturing infrastructure in Ahmedabad. The site features an electric two-wheeler assembly plant with an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units, which operates alongside an in-house automated battery manufacturing unit.
The R40 scooter model, previously announced by the company in 2025, relies on an internally developed powertrain framework, delivering a certified single-charge driving range of 165 kilometers.
