Jay Bharat Maruti lays foundation stone for its upcoming facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana

The new plant will provide capacity enhancement to meet the requirements of Maruti Suzuki’s new manufacturing plant at IMT Kharkhoda, which is expected to be commissioned by FY2025.

Jay Bharat Maruti Limited (JBML), a leading auto component manufacturer and Tier I supplier to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. laid the foundation stone for its new plant in Kharkhoda, Sonipat, Haryana yesterday. The ceremonial stone was laid by Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India along with SK Arya, Chairman and MD, JBM Group and Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman, JBM Group. JBML is a strategic joint venture between JBM Group and Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Located in the MSIL Supplier’s Park, IMT Kharkhoda and spread over an area of over 6.7 acres, the new plant will provide capacity enhancement to meet the requirements of Maruti Suzuki’s new manufacturing plant at IMT Kharkhoda, which is expected to be commissioned by FY2025. The facility will be set up in phases, consistent with MSIL volume forecast of 1 million vehicles at Kharkhoda.

Speaking on the occasion, SK Arya, Chairman, JBML said, “It is a momentous day for us as we further our relationship with our esteemed customer MSIL having being partners for over four decades now. Maruti Suzuki has proudly reached the two million production mark, and now the vision is to achieve a volume of four million vehicles by 2031, double of the volume it achieved in the last 40 years. This is a great pace of progress and we assure that JBML will stand by MSIL in achieving this quantum leap.”

The Indian automobile industry has been growing rapidly over the last decade and is expected to maintain the momentum for the next several years. Technological advances too, have made the auto industry amongst the fast-growing markets globally.
