Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced the launch of the Hyundai Innovation Challenge 2026 on June 5, inviting startups across India to apply for a structured co-development program focused on next-generation mobility and automotive technologies.

The six-month program targets startups working in areas including electrification, new mobility, connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), AI-driven tools and next-generation vehicle technologies. The initiative is backed by Hyundai Motor Group's global open innovation platform, ZER01NE.

Applications are being accepted through the end of June 2026 via a platform managed by LINK Innovation, a global startup consulting and accelerator firm. The platform identifies 15 focus areas, though HMIL has indicated that startups with ideas outside these areas are also welcome to apply.

Shortlisted applicants will go through a technology and product readiness evaluation before a final pitch round before HMIL's top management. Selected startups stand to receive Proof-of-Concept grants, mentorship from HMIL specialists, access to the company's customer ecosystem, and potential pathways to investment and long-term strategic partnerships.
