Farmtrac 6055 Dark Edition, PROMAXX 2.0 tractors launched

Escorts Kubota has marked 30 years of its Farmtrac brand in India with the launch of the 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ and an expansion of its PROMAXX tractor range under the PROMAXX 2.0 line-up.

The 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ is the first all-black tractor introduced by Farmtrac. It is positioned in the 55 HP category and will be available in both two-wheel-drive (2WD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations. The PROMAXX 2.0 range, meanwhile, adds the 47 HT PROMAXX and the 50 PROMAXX, with both models also offered in 2WD and 4WD versions.

Farmtrac was launched in 1995 and currently spans the 26 HP to 60 HP range in India. Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in the country—Kubota, Farmtrac and Powertrac—targeting the premium, entry-premium and value segments, respectively.

Farmtrac 6055 Classic Dark Edition: 55 HP tractor in 2WD and 4WD

The Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ uses a four-cylinder, 3,682cc engine producing a maximum torque of 247Nm. The tractor has a 2,500kg hydraulic lift capacity and is equipped with LED lighting and a heat shield.

According to the company, the model is designed for applications including super seeding, laser levelling, reversible mould board ploughing, rotavation and harrowing, along with heavy haulage.

PROMAXX 2.0 range expands with 47 HP and 50 HP models

The expanded PROMAXX 2.0 range comprises the 47 HT PROMAXX and the 50 PROMAXX. Both tractors use Farmtrac's 3,514cc High Torque engine, which delivers up to 230Nm of torque.

The two models feature a 12-forward, three-reverse gearbox, a creeper speed option and a flat operator platform. Both are available with 4WD, targeting applications requiring higher traction and torque.

Nikhil Nanda, chairman and managing director, said the new products form part of the company's strategy to strengthen the Farmtrac portfolio with application-led offerings across key horsepower categories.

Akira Kato, deputy managing director, said the 41-50 HP category remains the largest segment of India's domestic tractor market, while demand within the segment is shifting towards higher-torque and 4WD tractors as customers take up more demanding applications.

Neeraj Mehra, chief officer, Tractor Business Division, said increasing adoption of heavy-duty mechanisation and changing customer expectations have contributed to demand for tractors with greater utility, comfort and additional features. The company is positioning the PROMAXX 2.0 range around higher torque, creeper speed capability and operator comfort, while the 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ adds a distinct styling option to the 55 HP category.

Both the 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ and the new PROMAXX 2.0 models will be introduced through Farmtrac's authorised dealer network.
