Hyundai Motor India Limited recorded total monthly sales of 51,335 units in June 2026, a 15.7 percent decrease on the 60,924 units sold in the same month in the previous year. According to a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges, the monthly total includes domestic sales of 39,635 units, nearly 10 percent down on 44,024 units year-on-year. Export dispatches decreased by 31 percent with 11,700 units, compared to 16,900 units in June 2025.
The automaker said that its output for the month was affected by a production loss, which affected its output by 13,900 units. The drop in volume was caused by a fire incident at a supplier's manufacturing plant, which resulted in a temporary interruption in the supply of necessary automotive components. In response to the shortage, the company sourced automotive parts from alternative locations to stabilize its assembly lines.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated that production operations returned to normal across all manufacturing facilities on June 22, 2026. Garg added that the manufacturer expects to recover the lost June production volume within the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year.
