Honda Cars India Names Toshiyuki Yanagisawa as President and CEO Effective October 1
Operating executive will jointly lead automobile and digital innovation arms as automaker transitions India strategic model plans into execution phase.
Honda Motor Company Limited has announced the appointment of Toshiyuki Yanagisawa as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Cars India Limited, effective October 1, 2026, according to an official statement issued on Thursday.
Yanagisawa, currently an Operating Executive at Honda, serves as the head of the company's India Strategic Development Office and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Digital Innovation India Private Limited. In his upcoming role, he will jointly lead both Honda Cars India Limited and Honda Digital Innovation India Private Limited.
The executive transition coincides with Honda entering the execution phase for its India-focused strategic vehicle, which is scheduled for market launch in 2028. The parent company has designated India alongside North America and Japan as priority markets within its global growth strategy.
Honda said that outgoing President and CEO Takashi Nakajima will transfer to the regional headquarters at Asian Honda Motor Company Limited upon concluding his tenure in India.
