Hero MotoCorp Taps Kausalya Nandakumar to Lead Emerging Mobility as Swadesh Srivastava Resigns

Hero MotoCorp Ltd., the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has announced the appointment of Kausalya Nandakumar as the Chief Business Officer for its Emerging Mobility Business Unit, effective immediately. Kausalya takes over from Swadesh Srivastava, who has resigned from the role citing health priorities.

In her new role, Kausalya will oversee the growth of Hero’s electric vehicle arm, Vida, and report directly to Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman. She brings nearly two decades of cross-sectoral experience in automotive, electric mobility, and digital innovation, most recently serving as COO of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., where she led the launch readiness of Mahindra’s $9.8 billion electric SUV business.

Swadesh Srivastava, in his resignation letter, thanked the leadership for their support and stated his decision was made in mutual alignment, driven by the need to focus on personal health and family. His resignation was accepted by the company with appreciation for his contributions, and he is expected to assist with a smooth transition.

Hero MotoCorp noted that this leadership change aligns with its broader strategic push towards future-ready, sustainable mobility solutions and innovation-driven business models.
