frankstephenson Design has entered a strategic partnership with UAE-based W Motors to expand its automotive design operations in the Middle East. The agreement, announced Monday, will establish a permanent design studio within W Motors' Dubai headquarters and includes the relocation of a senior designer to the UAE.
The partnership focuses on developing custom automotive projects that combine design innovation with engineering capabilities. frankstephenson Design will operate from a dedicated space within W Motors' Mobility Centre of Excellence, marking the studio's first permanent Middle East presence.
Frank Stephenson, who founded the design studio, has previously worked on vehicles including the McLaren P1, Ferrari F430, and Maserati MC12. His studio has been repositioning itself toward automotive design after working across various industries.
W Motors, founded by Ralph Debbas, manufactures luxury sports cars and provides mobility solutions from its Dubai base. The company has produced vehicles including the Lykan HyperSport and Fenyr SuperSport, with plans to expand into sea and air mobility sectors.
The companies stated that multiple automotive projects are already in development, with plans for design reveals and private events to showcase the collaboration's initial work. The partnership represents W Motors' strategy to develop regional automotive industry capabilities while providing frankstephenson Design access to Middle East markets.
Both companies indicated the partnership aligns with their expansion goals, with W Motors seeking to enhance its design capabilities and frankstephenson Design working to establish a stronger automotive industry presence in key global markets.
