EMotorad Launches Viper Electric Cycle in India

EMotorad has launched a new electric cycle, the Viper, as it looks to expand its presence in India’s growing personal electric mobility segment.

Priced at ₹66,999, the model features a 48V 250W rear hub motor paired with a removable 48V 15.6Ah battery. The company claims a range of up to 85 km with pedal assist and around 70 km on throttle mode, positioning it within the mid-range segment of electric cycles in the country.

The cycle is equipped with front and rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and wide tyres, reflecting a design approach that caters to both urban roads and uneven terrain. It also features a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain and is designed to support riders weighing up to 110 kg.

One of the key additions in the Viper is an NFC-based unlocking system, allowing users to access the vehicle without a physical key. The model also includes a digital display, multiple pedal-assist modes, and integrated lighting for improved visibility.

The launch comes amid rising interest in electric cycles in India, driven by demand for low-cost, short-distance mobility alternatives that do not require registration or licensing. Industry players have been adding features such as connected systems and higher-capacity batteries to differentiate their offerings in an increasingly competitive market.

EMotorad say that the Viper will be available through the company’s dealership network as well as online platforms.
