Elektrobit and ETAS Introduce Pre-Integrated ADAS Software Foundation

Elektrobit and ETAS have launched a fully integrated advanced driver assistance systems software foundation at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2026 in Yokohama. The joint automotive solution combines the EB corbos Linux for Safety Applications platform from Elektrobit with the Vehicle Software Platform Suite developed by ETAS.

The new software foundation is designed to reduce integration efforts for customers by delivering operating system and middleware components in a coordinated setup. This pre integrated approach mitigates engineering risks compared to sourcing individual software components separately. The platform incorporates a safety enabled Linux environment, providing an open alternative to the proprietary operating systems traditionally used in foundational automotive platforms.

Original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers can utilize the new software foundation within their existing vehicle programs to conduct early production evaluations and pilot testing. ETAS representatives stated that the combined platform allows automotive companies to achieve ASIL B safety compliance in Linux based systems while maintaining highly efficient data handling capabilities. The collaboration aims to provide a scalable framework that addresses customer demand for production ready software defined vehicle systems.

Elektrobit operates as an independently operated subsidiary of AUMOVIO, providing software solutions for automobiles. ETAS functions as a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, specializing in automotive middleware, testing solutions, and engineering consulting services.
