EKA Mobility has appointed Sanjay Kumar Bohra as Chief Commercial Officer, the electric vehicle manufacturer announced Monday. Bohra will oversee financial and commercial strategy for the company and its parent group as EKA continues expanding its electric commercial vehicle operations.

The appointment comes as EKA Mobility works to strengthen its position in India's electric vehicle market and expand internationally. The company, backed by Japanese trading house Mitsui Co., Dutch manufacturer VDL Groep, and Indian firm Pinnacle Industries, focuses on electric commercial vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions.

Bohra brings 37 years of experience in finance, banking, and business process services to his new role. He previously served as Group CFO at an Indian automotive original equipment manufacturer, where he managed finance operations across domestic and international markets. His career also includes senior positions at Citigroup, where he handled global banking operations including cross-border fund transfers, trade finance, and compliance across multiple regions.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility and Pinnacle Industries, said Bohra's finance background and business transformation experience would support the company's growth plans. The appointment reflects EKA's focus on building financial capabilities as it scales operations.

At Tata Consultancy Services, Bohra led the Commercial Banking Operations business process outsourcing division. He holds an Associate designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and began his career at Aditya Birla Group's Central Finance Cell.

Bohra said he was drawn to EKA's approach to clean mobility and sustainability. The company aims to create what it calls an "ecosystem for Environment-Conscious Mobility" through its electric vehicle technology and manufacturing processes.

EKA Mobility operates as Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and positions itself as developing new approaches to commercial vehicle electrification. The company emphasizes modular designs and manufacturing processes intended to reduce total cost of ownership for electric vehicles.

The electric vehicle sector in India has seen increased investment and policy support as the government promotes cleaner transportation alternatives. Commercial vehicle electrification represents a growing segment within this broader transition, with companies working to address range, charging infrastructure, and cost considerations for fleet operators.
