Dylect Enlists Rannvijay Singha to Spotlight Road Scams and the Case for Dashcams
The lifestyle tech brand's "Scam Ya Dashcam?" campaign uses real-world scenarios to highlight how in-car recording devices can protect drivers from staged incidents, fraudulent claims, and insurance disputes on Indian roads.
Automotive accessories brand Dylect has launched the third edition of its awareness campaign, "Scam Ya Dashcam?," featuring television personality and adventure sports enthusiast Rannvijay Singha. The campaign is aimed at educating Indian motorists about the growing prevalence of road scams and the potential role of dashcams in providing evidentiary protection.
The campaign comes against a backdrop of rising road safety concerns in India. According to official data cited by the company, the country recorded 1.8 lakh road fatalities in 2024, with overspeeding accounting for nearly 70 percent of those deaths. Beyond collisions, Dylect points to a parallel trend of staged incidents, false damage claims, and road rage confrontations that can leave drivers without adequate recourse in the absence of on-board documentation.
Dylect's dashcam products feature high-resolution video recording, G-sensor technology that automatically locks footage upon detecting an impact, and onboard storage designed to preserve critical evidence. The company says the devices are intended to give drivers a factual record they can use to support insurance claims or challenge disputed liability scenarios.
The broader market for dashcams in India appears to be expanding. Industry projections cited by the company suggest the segment could grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 15 percent through 2032, driven by increasing consumer interest in vehicle safety technology, insurance documentation, and protection against fraudulent claims.
Singha, known for his association with adventure and automotive content, serves as the campaign's brand face, appearing in scenarios that illustrate the practical consequences of driving without an on-board camera. Dylect frames the campaign as part of a wider effort to shift dashcams from a premium optional accessory to an everyday safety consideration for Indian drivers.
Dylect is an India-based lifestyle technology brand offering products across automotive, smart home, and consumer electronics categories. The company focuses on accessible, value-oriented technology designed for everyday use.
