drivebuddyAI Demonstrates ADAS Technology at India's First Dedicated Test Track
Ahmedabad-based firm puts AI-powered driver safety systems through live trials at ARAI's ADAS Test City in Pune.
Ahmedabad-based drivebuddyAI showcased its suite of AI and vision-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at the ARAI ADAS Test City in Pune on 18th February 2026, conducting live on-track demonstrations for heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) and passenger vehicles (PVs). The event marked the company's latest milestone following its global debut at CES 2026 earlier this year.
The demonstrations covered several compliance test scenarios run simultaneously on a single hardware and software platform. These included a Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning System compliant with India's AIS184 standard — extended to cover Euro compliance test cases — alongside seatbelt detection, phone use monitoring and distraction alerts. Additional scenarios featured a Moving Off Information System (AIS187) capable of detecting pedestrians crossing within one to five metres of a moving vehicle, a Blind Spot Information System (AIS186) tested using a cyclist dummy, and a forward vehicle collision warning system combining radar and camera-based detection.
All test cases were executed through a unified system with all cameras fused to deliver 360-degree perception, with the company noting that the demonstrations went beyond prescribed compliance parameters to reflect practical, real-world driving conditions in India.
According to the company, its ADAS suite has been validated across close to four billion kilometres of driving data, with reported outcomes including an 80% reduction in drowsiness-related incidents and a more than 70% reduction in overall fleet risk. The technology holds compliance certifications under India's AIS-184 Driver Monitoring standard, the European Union's General Safety Regulation (GSR) 2144, and the Euro NCAP 2026 driver engagement protocol. While the current round of demonstrations focused on commercial vehicle classes, the company says the platform is fully scalable to passenger vehicles, offering a pathway for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to meet evolving global safety requirements.
Nisarg Pandya, CEO and Founder of drivebuddyAI, said the event provided a strong platform to establish the company's position ahead of upcoming OEM compliance deadlines. "The engagement and response we received were phenomenal, reinforcing both the market need and the industry's confidence in our solutions," he said, adding that ADAS technology deployed in India must be tuned to local road conditions to achieve meaningful reductions in road fatalities.
