BSA Motorcycles Unveils Scrambler 650 and Bantam 350
The two models bring modern engine platforms and updated features to BSA’s classic design language.
BSA Motorcycles has launched two new models: the Scrambler 650 and the Bantam 350, as part of its ongoing global expansion and brand revival efforts.
The Scrambler 650 is powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine that produces approximately 44.4 hp at 6500 rpm and 40.6 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. It features a 5-speed transmission, slip-and-assist clutch, telescopic front forks, and twin rear shock absorbers with adjustable preload. Key equipment includes dual-channel ABS, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, Brembo brakes, a 12-litre fuel tank, and wire-spoke alloy rims. The motorcycle has a wet weight of 218 kg, a seat height of 820 mm, and a 1463 mm wheelbase.
The Bantam 350 is equipped with a Euro 5+ compliant 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine delivering around 28.6 hp at 7750 rpm and 21.8 lb-ft of torque at 6000 rpm. It includes a 6-speed gearbox, dual-channel ABS, telescopic front forks, and twin rear shock absorbers. With an 800 mm seat height, the Bantam 350 is intended for accessible, everyday mobility. It features styling influenced by its historical namesake, including a round headlamp and teardrop fuel tank, with options for either analogue or digital instrumentation.
The motorcycles are developed by Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, which acquired BSA in 2016. The company aims to revive iconic motorcycle brands and position them in both domestic and international markets. In 2021, BSA received a £4.6 million grant from the UK government to support the development of zero-emission motorcycles.
