BMW G 310 RR, C 400 GT now more affordable

BMW Motorrad India’s line-up is dominated by large-capacity, multi-cylinder motorcycles, most of which have become more expensive under the revised GST slabs. However, two of its products have actually benefited from the tax update—the TVS-built BMW G 310 RR and the BMW C 400 GT maxi-scooter.

The G 310 RR is now the only 312cc model in BMW’s portfolio, with its siblings discontinued. Its aspirational BMW badge combined with a relatively accessible price has already won it a fair share of buyers. Thanks to the new GST rate, the G 310 RR is now priced at Rs 2.81 lakh, down from Rs 3.05 lakh, marking a reduction of Rs 24,000.

The second beneficiary is the premium C 400 GT, powered by a 350cc single-cylinder engine—just within the new GST limit. The scooter, earlier priced at Rs 11.75 lakh, now retails for Rs 10.83 lakh, a hefty drop of Rs 92,000. The C 400 GT continues to remain India’s only genuine maxi-scooter, with no direct rivals. The closest alternative, Honda’s X-ADV, is now significantly more expensive.

Every other ICE BMW two-wheeler in the country has seen prices climb under GST 2.0, but for now, it’s the G 310 RR and C 400 GT that stand out as the exceptions.
