Bajaj has launched the Pulsar N250SS at Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), expanding the N250 range with a more feature-rich variant. The updates follow the ‘SS’ treatment introduced on the Pulsar N160 earlier this year, bringing changes to the engine, transmission and electronics.
Bajaj Pulsar N250SS: Engine and Gearbox
The Pulsar N250SS uses an updated version of the 249cc air- and oil-cooled engine, now featuring a four-valve head. It produces 25hp and 22Nm, compared with 24.5hp and 21.5Nm on the standard N250.
The five-speed gearbox has been replaced by a six-speed unit, while a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts comes as standard. The N250SS also gets an electronic throttle body, enabling multiple riding modes.
Bajaj Pulsar N250SS: Features and Technology
The new 5-inch TFT instrument console replaces the standard bike’s LCD unit and supports Google Maps mirroring. Other additions include adjustable levers, a USB Type-C charging port, a panic brake alert and a hazard switch.
These updates bring the N250SS closer to the feature set introduced on the Pulsar N160SS, while establishing it as the more comprehensively equipped variant in the N250 range.
Bajaj Pulsar N250SS: Price and Rivals
Priced at Rs 1.59 lakh, the Bajaj Pulsar N250SS costs Rs 14,000 more than the standard N250. It remains more affordable than rivals such as the Suzuki Gixxer 250, priced at Rs 1.85 lakh, and the Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon, which costs Rs 1.98 lakh. (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi)
The additional equipment, revised engine and six-speed gearbox distinguish the N250SS from the standard model, while its pricing keeps it below these key competitors.
