Autocar Professional’s December 1, 2025 Edition is out!

This edition highlights a mobility sector at a defining crossroads, where long-term competitiveness will be shaped by structural choices rather than short-term market signals. The issue captures how rising concerns over air quality, energy security and operating costs are accelerating the shift toward cleaner technologies, with electrification emerging as a central pillar of industry strategy.

The latest edition spotlights the India EV Conclave 2025, organised by Autocar Professional as a platform for focused dialogue on the country’s electrification roadmap. The event brought together more than two dozen CEOs and CXOs, senior government officials and nearly 300 industry participants—an indicator of how far the conversation has evolved.

This issue also examines the duality shaping India’s EV journey. On one hand, consumer acceptance is rising, electric bus adoption is expanding, and two- and three-wheelers are consolidating their early lead. OEM–supplier collaboration is strengthening and localisation gains are beginning to take root.

On the other hand, fundamental gaps remain: India still lacks domestic cell manufacturing, charging infrastructure continues to face density and reliability issues, financing models for fleets need innovation, and dependence on China for cells, magnets, semiconductors and critical materials remains a strategic risk.

The current edition stresses that India’s transition will remain multi-pathway—with cleaner ICE technologies, hybrids, biofuels and EVs coexisting. For electrification to secure a stronger foothold, the next phase must focus on cost competitiveness, supply-chain depth and reliable charging infrastructure.
