Audi India opens bookings for Q8 facelift
The existing Q8 is priced between Rs 1.07 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom) in India, so the facelifted model is expected to be priced slightly higher.
Audi India has opened bookings for the Q8 facelift both online and at dealerships for a token amount of Rs 5 lakh. Prices for the Q8 facelift will be announced on August 22. Although it remains mechanically unchanged, it gets light cosmetic updates and new features.
Under the hood, the Q8 continues with the same 340hp, 500Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol with a mild-hybrid system. It comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with quattro four-wheel drive, and Audi claims a 0-100kph sprint time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 250kph.
The carmaker has revealed that the Q8 will get eight colour options in India – Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey, Glacier White, Satellite Silver, Tamarind Brown and Vicuna Beige – along with four interior colour options – Okapi Brown, Saiga Beige, Black and Pando Gray. It will get 21-inch Gunmetal-finished 5-spoke alloys as standard.
The biggest change to the facelift would be the new headlights, which are now HD Matrix LED units with a laser-assist for the high beam. It even gets configurable light signatures. There are subtle upgrades to the grille with new octagonal apertures and ‘L’ shaped inserts, and the air intakes in the bumper have been reshaped too. The rear, too, remains largely the same as its predecessor, but the new digital OLED rear lights get four selectable light designs that work in conjunction with the headlights.
The inside of the new Q8 is virtually identical to the outgoing car, with cosmetic changes being limited to the seat upholstery that gets different stitching and inlay patterns. Features-wise, the Q8 gets an expanded app store and comes with built-in third-party music apps such as Spotify and Amazon Music. The driver assistance systems have also been improved upon.
The existing Q8 is priced between Rs 1.07 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom) in India, so the facelifted model is expected to be priced slightly higher.
