In a significant development for India's electric vehicle sector, three major automotive companies have partnered to introduce battery-swappable electric three-wheelers. Atul Greentech Private Limited, Valeo India Private Limited, and Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) announced their collaboration to bring this innovative technology to the Indian market.

The partnership introduces two new vehicles: the MOBILI SWAP for passenger transport, offering a 79-kilometer range per battery exchange, and the ENERGIE SWAP for cargo, delivering 74 kilometers per swap. These vehicles aim to address a critical challenge in electric vehicle adoption - charging downtime.

"Interchangeable products will revolutionize the electric vehicle sector," says Vijay Kedia, Director of Atul Auto. "They will increase customer revenues by eliminating the need to recharge batteries. An extensive network of exchange stations will reduce range anxiety. As the battery remains the property of the company, customers will benefit from lower vehicle costs and reduced warranty obligations."

The collaboration leverages each company's strengths: Atul's expertise in three-wheeler manufacturing, Valeo's compact 48V electric powertrain technology, and HEID's battery exchange infrastructure. Mr. Jayakumar G, Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, emphasized the partnership's potential impact: "This three-way engagement brings together the expertise required to accelerate the electrification of three-wheeler vehicles and reduce CO2 emissions."

Atul Greentech, a subsidiary of Atul Auto Limited, brings its experience in designing and manufacturing electric three-wheelers for both domestic and international markets. Valeo, a global leader in 48V systems, contributes its newly launched compact powertrain system designed specifically for India's small mobility vehicles. HEID's battery swap stations complete the ecosystem by enabling quick battery exchanges, eliminating lengthy charging stops.

The initiative represents a strategic move to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in India's transportation sector, particularly in last-mile connectivity and urban logistics. By addressing key concerns such as charging time and range anxiety, the partnership tries to make electric mobility more accessible and practical for fleet operators and individual users alike.
