Ashok Leyland rolls out 100,000th AVTR truck 29 months after launch

The modular AVTR truck platform, which offers a comprehensive truck range from 19T to 55T GVW, has given the company a new charge in the CV market.

Ashok Leyland rolled out its 100,000th unit of the AVTR truck range from its Pantnagar plant in Uttarakhand yesterday. The production milestone comes within 30 months of its launch on June 4, 2020. The modular AVTR truck platform offers a comprehensive truck range from 19T to 55T GVW.

AVTR, which is India’s first indigenously developed modular platform, enables a variety of axle configurations, loading spans, cabins, suspensions, and drivetrain options on a single platform. The AVTR platform truck allows customisation to customers’ needs and applications. The platform comes with the next-generation i-alert fleet management system with remote diagnostics providing increased safety, higher reliability, durability, and superior driver comfort.

Speaking at the 100,000th AVTR vehicle roll-out,  Dheeraj Hinduja, executive chairman, Ashok Leyland said, “We are proud to have achieved this significant milestone. Ashok Leyland has always been ahead of the curve and leading the CV industry in product technology and innovation. The AVTR’s impact can be seen in Ashok Leyland’s strong performance in first-half FY2023. The company recorded total sales of 79,639 M&HCVs, which constitutes 90% YoY growth (H1 FY2022: 41,866 units). These included 44,422 heavy goods carriers which is a 135% YoY increase (H1 FY2022: 18,850 units).
