Ashok Leyland announced plans to establish more than 50 new dealerships and service outlets in northern India this year, adding to its current network of 300 touch points across the region.

The commercial vehicle manufacturer, which operates as the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group, cited the region's economic growth, infrastructure development, and increasing demand for commercial vehicles as drivers for the expansion. Northern India represents the largest market for commercial vehicles in the country, accounting for more than one-third of total industry volume.

The company has increased its market share by 6.5 percentage points over the past three years in the region. Delhi serves as a key market for Ashok Leyland's Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles business, benefiting from large-scale infrastructure investments and growing freight mobility requirements.

"Our focus on customer-centricity and industry-leading total cost of ownership has helped us consistently grow in the region," said Sanjeev Kumar, President of M&HCV at Ashok Leyland. He emphasized the company's commitment to strengthening its presence in northern India through partnerships and service delivery.

Ashok Leyland manufactures commercial vehicles and positions itself as a leading player in the M&HCV market segment. The company has emphasized technology integration and product development as part of its growth strategy.

The expansion forms part of Ashok Leyland's broader strategy to increase accessibility and support for customers across northern India's transportation sector. The region's infrastructure development and economic activity have created opportunities for commercial vehicle manufacturers to expand their operations and market reach.
