Ashok Leyland has launched a new range of heavy-duty commercial trucks equipped with air suspension technology, introducing three multi-axle models aimed at high-capacity freight transport. The newly rolled out portfolio includes the AVTR 4925 10x2 MAV, the AVTR 4625 10x2 MAV, and the AVTR 4525 8x2 MAV, which represent configurations in the 45-tonne, 46-tonne, and 49-tonne gross vehicle weight categories.

According to product specifications released by the manufacturer, the integration of air suspension allows for weight-saving advantages compared to conventional leaf-spring configurations. The AVTR 4925 offers a payload capacity increase of 1.5 tonnes, while the AVTR 4625 and AVTR 4525 models provide a payload advantage of up to 4 tonnes, depending on operating conditions.

The manufacturing company stated that the mechanical setup reduces chassis vibrations and shocks, which improves overall vehicle stability when fully loaded, dampens road undulations, and helps extend tire operating life. To support fleet customization, the new truck variants are being offered in both bare cowl and fully built cabin configurations, alongside multiple loading span lengths to match specific logistics requirements.

The commercial vehicles come equipped with Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control and Automatic Traction Control as standard features to manage fuel consumption and wheel slip across varied terrain profiles. Commenting on the launch, Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, noted that the product introduction is aimed at helping fleet operators improve overall productivity and operational profitability. Sanjeev Kumar, President of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles, added that the development addresses current fleet requirements for improved stability, shock absorption, and total cost of ownership efficiency.
