Apollo Tyres Creates Global Marketing Division, Promotes Udyan Ghai to Group Head
Tyre manufacturer establishes centralised marketing team under commercial division, relocates operations to London for improved global coordination.
Apollo Tyres has announced the creation of a global marketing team within its commercial organisation, effective May 1, 2025, as part of ongoing structural improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
The new marketing division will be led by Udyan Ghai, who has been promoted to Group Head, Marketing, and will report directly to Chief Commercial Officer Benoit Rivallant. The team will be based in London to maintain independence from regional sales operations and facilitate better interaction with global brand partners.
Ghai, who joined Apollo Tyres in 2006 as Associate Manager, Marketing in Gurugram, will continue managing US regional marketing responsibilities alongside his new global role. He has held multiple positions across India, the UK, and the US, managing product categories and marketing portfolios throughout his tenure.
The global marketing structure comprises four key groups: Product Strategy Group will handle product vision, roadmap development, pricing strategy, and competitive benchmarking. Brand Strategy Group will develop unified B2B and B2C approaches, managing global campaigns, sponsorships, and brand assets. Marketing Insight and Analytics Group will monitor consumer trends, audience segmentation, and digital performance analysis. Marketing Business Partners will work with regional commercial leaders on pricing, trade marketing, and local marketing communications.
The new marketing team will be responsible for product strategy, brand strategy, digital marketing including AI and social media applications, marketing insights and analytics, competition monitoring, and business partnering with regional sales teams.
Corporate Communications, including Corporate PR and Internal Communications, will remain under Yograj Varma's leadership without changes.
Apollo Tyres stated that all existing marketing team employees will be realigned to the new structure, with detailed announcements to follow from Rivallant and Ghai.
The announcement was signed by Vice Chairman & Managing Director Neeraj Kanwar and Chief Commercial Officer Benoit Rivallant, emphasising the company's commitment to internal talent development and career growth opportunities.
