Apollo Tyres Chairman Sees Profitable Growth Despite Global Uncertainty
Onkar S. Kanwar says disciplined execution, sustainability and long-term investments will help the tyre maker navigate geopolitical and economic challenges while continuing to create shareholder value.
Apollo Tyres Chairman Onkar S. Kanwar has expressed confidence in the company’s long-term growth prospects despite an uncertain global business environment, saying disciplined execution, operational efficiency and responsible investments will continue to guide the tyre maker’s strategy.
Addressing shareholders at the company’s 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), Kanwar said FY26 was marked by geopolitical tensions, shifting global trade dynamics and economic uncertainty, but Apollo Tyres remained focused on disciplined execution, responsible growth and long-term value creation.
“The future is not something we inherit. It is something we create through the choices we make every day,” Kanwar said, adding that every important decision at Apollo Tyres is driven by one question: “Are we building a stronger company for tomorrow?”
FY26 Financial Performance: Revenue and Profit Growth
Apollo Tyres reported consolidated revenue of ₹28,471 crore in FY26, while operating profit improved to ₹4,143 crore. Kanwar said the company also strengthened the quality of its business through better capital efficiency, operational discipline and a continued focus on profitable growth.
Sustainability and Net-Zero Commitment
Beyond financial performance, Kanwar highlighted brand building and sustainability as key pillars of Apollo Tyres’ long-term strategy. He said the company’s association with Team India reflects values such as resilience, determination and excellence that have defined the company over the years.
On sustainability, Kanwar said Apollo Tyres’ emission reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reaffirming its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. He added that the company continued to make progress in renewable energy, responsible sourcing and resource efficiency, describing sustainability as an integral part of how Apollo Tyres innovates, manufactures and grows.
Kanwar also acknowledged the support of employees, governments, dealers, distributors, suppliers and financial institutions, while highlighting the company’s partnership with the Government of Hungary, which has helped strengthen its European manufacturing operations.
Growth Outlook: India and Global Markets
Looking ahead, he said India continues to present significant growth opportunities, while Apollo Tyres’ global presence positions it to benefit from evolving mobility trends across international markets.
“Uncertainty will always be a part of business, but organisations that remain true to their values, continue to innovate and invest responsibly will be best placed to succeed,” Kanwar said, thanking shareholders for their continued trust and support.
