Aimtron Secures ₹97.55 Crore Contract for UPS System Development

Aimtron Electronics Limited has entered into a ₹97.55 crore Original Design Manufacturing agreement with a US-based infrastructure company to develop transformer-free Uninterruptible Power Supply systems. The contract represents one of the largest deals for the Indian electronics manufacturer and establishes a long-term partnership with potential for future expansion.

Under the agreement, Aimtron will handle the complete development cycle of the UPS systems, from initial design and prototyping through validation and mass production. The systems are designed to provide power backup for electronic equipment while offering improved energy efficiency and reduced space requirements compared to traditional transformer-based units.

The contract reflects Aimtron's expansion into higher-value manufacturing segments. The company will retain intellectual property rights for the designs developed under the partnership, marking a shift from traditional contract manufacturing toward innovation-driven production.

Mukesh Vasani, CEO of Aimtron, characterized the deal as recognition of the company's engineering capabilities and execution strength. He emphasized the alignment with India's Make in India initiative, noting that the systems will be engineered, developed, and manufactured domestically for global deployment.

Aimtron operates manufacturing facilities in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru, with its parent company headquartered in Chicago. Founded in 2011, the company provides electronics manufacturing services, printed circuit board assembly, and design services across automotive, medical technology, aerospace, industrial, power, gaming, IoT, and robotics sectors.

The company has been expanding its presence in aerospace and defense, telecommunications, network security, IoT, and AI-driven applications. This expansion is supported by infrastructure upgrades and recruitment of engineering personnel with specialized expertise.

The UPS systems developed under this contract will serve digital infrastructure requirements across multiple industries. The transformer-free design aims to address growing demands for compact, energy-efficient power solutions in modern electronic installations.

The partnership establishes Aimtron as a participant in the global critical infrastructure market, positioning the company to compete for similar high-value contracts. The deal also demonstrates the potential for Indian manufacturers to move beyond traditional assembly work toward design and development roles in international supply chains.
