2025 Yezdi Roadster Launched at Starting Price of Rs 2.09 Lakh in India

Classic Legends today launched the 2025 Yezdi Roadster at a starting price of Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom), alongside the updated Scrambler variant, marking a significant milestone in the brand's revival journey. The new Roadster comes packed with premium features including Brembo brakes, Continental ABS, and extensive customization options.

The 2025 Roadster is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled Alpha 2 engine producing 29.6 bhp and 29.9 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle features best-in-class braking with a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc, both from Brembo, equipped with Continental dual-channel ABS. Other highlights include an assist and slipper clutch, full LED lighting, and a patented breather canopy design.

At the launch event, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group – Classic Legends' chief shareholder – expressed strong confidence in the heritage brand's revival. "Can't manufacture authenticity overnight. It takes years to build trust. Yezdi motorcycle brand is an icon and has not gone out of fashion. My belief about reviving heritage brands is that it already has a heart," Mahindra said. "The market is always chasing the next big thing. And it is a remarkable opportunity to bring back this iconic thing."

The company also announced aggressive network expansion plans to support the new launch. Sharad Agarwal, Chief Business Officer of Classic Legends, revealed that the company will expand its service and sales network to 450 touch points across India by Diwali this year, with plans to cross 500 outlets soon after – a significant jump from the current 350 outlets.

"Our focus is on making our brands more accessible to customers across the country. The expansion to 450 touch points by Diwali is just the beginning," Agarwal said, adding that the new Roadster comes with an industry-leading 4-year warranty and 5-year comprehensive maintenance plan.

The company's leadership acknowledged past challenges while expressing optimism about the future. Co-founder Anupam Thareja revealed that the brand had faced orchestrated negative online campaigns through automated accounts targeting its after-sales service and performance metrics. Co-founder Boman Irani added that unexpected disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic had created additional hurdles for the brand's growth trajectory.

The new Roadster launch is part of Classic Legends' ambitious growth strategy announced in June, where the company outlined plans to double its sales to over 64,000 units in FY26 from 32,343 units achieved in FY25. The company has committed ₹1,000 crore for growth initiatives and aims to achieve 100,000 annual sales by 2025.

The expansion will cover all three brands in Classic Legends' portfolio – Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA. The company recently introduced the BSA Gold Star 650 to the Indian market and launched the 2025 Jawa 42 Bobber in July at ₹2.25 lakh. In March 2025, it introduced the Ownership Assurance Programme across all brands, including extended warranties, roadside assistance, and buyback options.

Classic Legends is also pursuing aggressive export plans, targeting 20,000 units across seven new markets including the US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Middle East, and Mexico, with additional exploration in Argentina and Prague.

The competitive pricing of the 2025 Roadster, starting at Rs 2.09 lakh, positions it strategically in the premium motorcycle segment, especially considering its premium components like Brembo brakes and extensive customization options. The launch timing aligns with the upcoming festive season when motorcycle sales traditionally peak in India.
