Yamaha records 28 percent growth in November 2013
December 2, 2013: Yamaha Motor India Sales has recorded a seven percent growth in domestic sales in November 2013 as compared to the year-earlier period.
December 2, 2013: Yamaha Motor India Sales has recorded a seven percent growth in domestic sales in November 2013 as compared to the year-earlier period. According to the company, its entry into the scooter segment with the launch of Ray and Ray Z has been instrumental in boosting its sales to an all-new level.
Yamaha sold 39,777 units in November 2013 as against 37,344 units sold in November 2012. In the export markets, it sold 17,383 units in November 2013 as compared to 7,344 units sold in the same month last year, a growth of 137 percent. Overall sales stood at 57,160 units in November 2013 while 44,688 units were sold in November 2012, thereby registering a 28 percent overall growth.
Roy Kurian, vice-president, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales, said, “We are very pleased with our consistent sales performance this year at a 34 percent average sales growth that can be attributed to our strong product portfolio, upbeat customer confidence and new launches in the scooter segment. We are extremely positive about our special edition FZ series motorcycle, new scooters Ray Precious Edition and Ray Z. The scooter segment has also caught on and is expected to be the growth driver for the 2 wheeler industry.”
