Williams Controls sets up India base

US-BASED WILLIAMS Controls has inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Pune that will manufacture electronic pedals for Williams’ customers in India’s truck, bus and off-road markets. The company completed validation testing in December 2010 and production is scheduled to commence this month.

Patrick W. Cavanagh, Williams Controls’ President and chief executive officer said, “We have developed a world-class facility and strong management team here in India, and look forward to growing together in this dynamic market.” He said the Indian market is one of the company’s top markets for commercial vehicles worldwide and is expected to continue to grow as the government moves to implement more stringent vehicle emission standards.

With sales, engineering, and manufacturing facilities in Pune, Williams believes it is well positioned to help meeting growing demand.
