Volvo appoints new dealers

Swedish car major, Volvo Cars Corporation has appointed three dealers each in New Delhi (Harpreet Motors), Mumbai (Shreenath Motors) and Chandigarh (Bhagat).

"We believe all the three dealers have the necessary capability and experience to assist us in achieving our business objectives. Their proposals reflected the strong product-process assurance, research based planning and understanding of our strategic and tactical goals which is key to the Volvo company-dealer relationship across the globe,” said managing director, Volvo Car India, Paul de Voijs at the signing ceremony.

All the three dealerships will have the same visual identity and design as other Volvo dealerships around the globe based on their programme - Volvo Next Face (VNF). The programme was specifically produced to create a modern and uniform appearance for Volvo’s dealers the world over.

VNF (Volvo Next Face) is a transformational and innovative corporate identity program from Volvo to increase customer satisfaction and to ensure a superior brand and purchase experience. VNF programme advocates effectively to the consumer - the visual and emotional experience of what Volvo Cars stands for and the values of the company.

The dealerships will be spread over an area of approximately 1 acre (facility size) or 6,500 sq ft (showroom space) in Chandigarh, 4,000 sq ft in Mumbai and 6,000 sq ft in New Delhi. In addition to new car sales, all the dealerships will have a separate children play area and include functions like the sale of accessories, spares, workshop services and body shops and varied financial services, all according to Volvo standards.

“Representing Volvo Cars in the marketplace, the dealer is the most important interface. Therefore, our dealer development focuses on the delivery of customer care, service and rapid problem solving of the highest quality. All the dealers will incorporate Volvo’s global best practices and processes, ensuring a superior sales and service experience for our valued customers in India,” de Voijs added.

Volvo Car Corporation has plans to enter the Indian car market before the end of the year 2007. Initially the company will introduce their S80 sedan and XC90 sport utility in both petrol and diesel variants. Currently both the cars are awaiting approval on the homologation process.
