Valeo makes Expo debut, has world premier for parking assistance solution

Component major Valeo, which is a first-time exhibitor at the Expo at Hall 15B, has been present in India since 1997. At the expo, the company showcased a number of product innovations aimed at supporting the development of the Indian automobile market and drawing OEM interest. They include ReStart, Integrated Speaker Control Unit for parking assistance, LEDs, Wi-Fi Rear Camera, and Water-Cooled Charged Air Cooler.

Integrated Speaker Control Unit for parking assistance: The unveiling of the product was a world premier at the Expo. This is an innovative parking assistance solution particularly adapted to the Indian market needs. A loud speaker connected to the ultrasonic sensor, is integrated into the control unit, making this solution a compact and cost effective system which can be easily installed into any vehicle.

ReStart: This reinforced starter is a component of the Valeo Stop Start system which allows the vehicle to start up immediately and silently.

LEDs: These are the most efficient sources for front lighting. They are twice better than Xenon and five times better than halogen, offering distinctive style opportunities and day-like super white light for safe and comfortable night driving.

Wi-Fi Rear Camera: This is a vision camera using Wi-Fi technology. It enables to directly link a rear vision camera to a Smartphone. Thus, the Smartphone substitutes for the navigation screen.

Water-Cooled Charge Air Cooler: This is a compact brazed aluminium heat exchanger cooled by water which allows fuel economy and emissions reductions. The system is applicable for charged, diesel or petrol engines.

All these innovations are designed to improve the relationship between drivers and their vehicles. In the coming years, the company plans to localise its entire range of global products including some advanced technologies and innovations, making them accessible to Indian customers.

Valeo's presence at Auto Expo is in line with the Group's strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and develop in high-growth countries. Valeo channels 6 percent of its sales into R&D, and files over 600 patents every year. Valeo has over 2,000 employees working out of five production sites in India and also has an R&D Centre in Chennai. “Valeo currently works with most OEMs in the Indian automotive industry. Our ambition is to become a key player in this segment by using our wide customer portfolio and extensive product range to our advantage. This Auto Expo is a great opportunity for us to showcase some of our innovations, and also raise further brand awareness,” said P R Dhaamodharan, Valeo Group President, India.
