TVS & Sons gets the dealership for Palfinger
T V Sundram Iyengar & Sons (TVS & Sons) has taken up a dealership for Austria-based Palfinger to sell its range of cranes. The company has also established a service association with AXA Assistance India (P) Ltd for its car service business. Palfinger is one of the leading manufacturers of hydraulic lifting, loading and handling systems having manufacturing and assembly sites in Europe, North and South America as well as in Asia.
Joint managing director of Palfinger Cranes India, Lilian Clerc said the new dealership, will commence operations immediately and will offer the entire range of Palfinger truck-mounted cranes starting from 0.4 to 116 m tonnes in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
The president (dealership business) of TVS & Sons, N Krishnamoorthy said by becoming a dealer for Palfinger, TVS & Sons is looking at synergies among truck operators, construction equipment manufacturers and building developers.
Subhamoy Ghosh, managing director, Palfinger India said,
“This is an important milestone for the expansion of our business in southern India." The company is setting up a manufacturing plant in Chennai at an investment of Rs 8 crore to make different kinds of cranes with most of the content sourced locally. The initial capacity of the plant is around 200 cranes, he said.
Meanwhile, MyTVS, the car services business division of TVS & Sons and AXA Assistance India (P) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the AXA Assistance, France have established a strategic alliance. This is likely to grow further to become a joint venture in the future.
