American automotive-care product brand Turtle Wax has completed 75 years of being in the global automotive business since it started off its journey in Chicago when the company was incorporated as ‘Plastone’.

Over the years, Turtle Wax has spread its wings to over 120 countries around the world, catering to the needs of car and motorcycle enthusiasts with its specialised polishes, waxes, and fabric-care products among other categories.

Today, the company offers spray wax, lens restoration kits, compounds, scratch removers, bug, tar and sticker removers alongside polishes and waxes. Turtle Wax claims that it is the No. 1 car-care brand in all these categories in the US, as per the NPD Data of December 2020.

To kick-off its 75th year celebration, Turtle Wax Car Care India has announced introduction of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic and Graphene Paste Wax. The company says that this new paste wax features the brand's patent-pending graphene technology, one of the top and most-recent ingredient trends in car care.

The commemorative paste wax is claimed to feature a unique blend of 10 waxes that are infused with silicon dioxide (SiO2) ceramic and graphene technology. The combined key benefits of this limited-edition wax include top-notch gloss, slickness, water repellence, and chemical resistance along with heat dissipation for increased UV protection. The formula will also help keep water and contaminants from sticking to the vehicle resulting in a clean, protected and easer to maintain finish. The Hybrid Solutions Ceramic and Graphene Paste Wax will be available online on Amazon India, Turtle Wax Car Care Studios and leading Car Care outlets across India.

According to Denis John Healy, executive chairman, Turtle Wax, “It’s been an incredible journey over the last 75 years, and I’m so lucky to have had a front-row seat to it all, including our foray into the Indian market. The fact that we continue to expand to new channels and territories - yet stay true to our values - and make sure our products continue to be easy to use, are grounded in technology, and always come at a great price, is a testament to the foundation built by my grandparents and parents. I am honoured to continue their legacy and excited for what we have in store for 2021 and beyond for India and the world.”

“The storied legacy and continued innovation are what makes this family-owned brand so successful around the globe,” said Sajan Murali Puravangara, executive director and country manager – India and South Asia, Turtle Wax.

“The fact that Turtle Wax has expanded to India and is celebrating such a huge milestone is an indication that we have big goals for the brand and are always looking ahead. The strong foundation and basics of the brand has abled it to become so beloved, accessible, and easy to use that we have a very closed knit group of enthusiasts who swear by our name,” he added.

The company has also announced a 10 percent discount on its products on Amazon.

India growth game-plan
In a recent interaction with Autocar Professional, Puravangara, revealed that the company is in the process of setting up a repackaging facility in Bangalore to bottle its fast-selling products such as car shampoos, right here in India.

Moreover, the company is also expanding its car care studios from the current three outlets in Gurgaon, Bangalore and Pune to a total of 10 outlets by May 2021. These new locations will include Kochi, Chennai, Mumbai, Faridabad, Kolkata, Siliguri and an additional outlet in Bangalore.
