TT Electronics opens sensor-making India facility
UK-based TT Electronics which makes electronic components, sensors and provide integrated services for a variety of sectors including defence, aerospace, transportation, medical and industrial opened its first India facility for sensors at Manesar on February 18.
Manesar, February 20, 2013: UK-based TT Electronics which makes electronic components, sensors and provide integrated services for a variety of sectors including defence, aerospace, transportation, medical and industrial opened its first India facility for sensors at Manesar on February 18.
On hand to inaugurate this faculty was Geraint Anderson, Group chief executive (pictured) as well as Pat Murray, head of the group’s sensor business and the architect of the India facility. At the inauguration, Anderson outlined the group’s India plan saying it is in India for the long term, for both development and manufacture of sensors for the automotive sector, which is the focus of the India operations.
TT Electronics had started out its India innings in a 51:49 joint venture with Padmini. The company has now acquired Padmini’s stake in the five-year joint venture and has moved its wholly-owned subsidiary to a new location at Manesar. With its wholly-owned subsidiary in place, TT electronics has begun to enhance its product range as well as take on board new clients. Among its new clients are Delphi-TVS, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles and has even bagged an export order from Geely of China.
TT Electronics is present in 20 locations worldwide and in Asia, this is the company’s second facility after China.
