Triumph Motorcycles begins bookings in Mumbai and Pune
January 24, 2014: Following an aggressive path of expanding its pan-India footprint, Triumph Motorcycles has begun accepting bookings in the western region through its planned dealership in Mumbai.
January 24, 2014: Following an aggressive path of expanding its pan-India footprint, Triumph Motorcycles has begun accepting bookings in the western region through its planned dealership in Mumbai. The firm will start accepting bookings in Pune from January 26. The two cities are expected to see fully-equipped showrooms of the iconic British motorcycle maker by February 2014.
The firm had announced the opening of its Hyderabad showroom yesterday and Bangalore showroom on January, 21. According to company officials, it has already received bookings for 50 units from its Bangalore outlet so far. Other possible locations lined up by the company are Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Kochi, where the dealerships are expected to come up by March 2014.
The company offers 10 models under five categories: Classics – Bonneville, Bonneville T100, and Thruxton; Roadsters – Street Triple ABS and Speed Triple ABS; Super Sports – Daytona 675 R ABS; Adventure – Tiger 800 XC ABS, Tiger Explorer ABS; and Cruisers – Storm and Rocket III Roadster ABS, all spread across a price range of Rs 5.9 lakh to Rs 20.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Bangalore. Of these 10 bikes, six are brought as CKD units while the adventure and cruiser motorcycles are brought to India as CBUs from firm’s UK and Thailand facilities. The CKD bikes are assembled at the company’s Manesar plant in Haryana.
Triumph is targeting sales of around 500 units by mid-2014 and 1,000 units in FY2014-15.
