May 15, 2012: Global industrial group Trelleborg Automotive, which develops high-performance solutions that seal, damp and protect in demanding industrial environments, has revealed plans to invest in a second manufacturing facility in India. This move is a direct response to the increasing demand for the company’s extensive range of automotive anti-vibration solutions (AVS) from passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers in India.
The new facility will be based in south India essentially to cater to customers regionally and will complement the company’s existing facility at Noida, near New Delhi.
Trelleborg Automotive AVS has been present in India since 1996 and is a key supplier to Indian OEMs, offering both engineering and manufacturing support. The market is forecast to achieve strong growth in the future with more than 2.5 million new vehicles expected to be on India’s roads next year.
