Tata Motors Group sells 96,089 vehicles in May 2012

June 15, 2012: The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, for the month of May 2012 were 96,089 units, an increase of 12 percent over May 2011.

Tata Motors Group sells 96,089 vehicles in May 2012

June 15, 2012: The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, for the month of May 2012 were 96,089 units, an increase of 12 percent over May 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 182,466 higher by 7 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2011-12.

Global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range – were 45,025 units in May 2012, a growth of 3 percent. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 83,033 units, down 2 percent. Global sales of all passenger vehicles at 51,064 units in May 2012 are higher by 21 percent, while cumulative sales for the fiscal were 99,433 units, higher by 16 percent.

While global sales of Tata passenger vehicles at 20,970 units for the month were higher by 6 percent over May 2011, cumulative sales for the fiscal are flat at 44,196 units.

Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in May 2012 comprised 30,094 vehicles, higher by 35 percent over May 2011, and were driven by the Range Rover Evoque and the 12MY Jaguar product range. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,342 units, up 3 percent; Land Rover sales were 25,752 units, higher by 42 percent. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal are 55,237 units, higher by 32 percent. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 7,945 units, up 9 percent, while those of Land Rover are 47,292 units, higher by 37 percent.
