Tata Motors expands Tiago range with new XTA variant
Priced at Rs 599,000, the Tiago gets an AMT variant to the existing XT trim.
Tata Motors has launched the new XTA variant of its Tiago hatchback, at a starting price of Rs 599,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). By adding an AMT variant to the XT trim of the existing Tata Tiago., the carmaker is strengthening its automatic line-up with 4 AMT options.
Commenting on the introduction of this new variant, Vivek Srivatsa, Head Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said, “We are constantly listening and gathering feedback from the market. The Tiago has received tremendous market response from across regions. Furthermore, the automatic transmission (AT) segment in India is booming and the same has been proven in the sales of Tiago as well. Acknowledging the increasing preference for ATs, we are confident that this new variant will not only give us a competitive edge in the mid-hatch segment but will also provide customers with accessible options to choose from at every price point.”
Since its launch in 2016, the Tiago has been very successful in its segment. The BS VI version was introduced in 2020, which also received a 4-star safety rating by Global NCAP at launch. The Tiago comes with a number of features such as the 7-inch Infotainment touch-screen by Harman, 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster amongst others. Tata Motors says the Tiago has, since its launch, sold around 325,000 units in India.
