SML Isuzu reports profit of Rs 22 crore in Jan-Mar 2019, up 47%
SML Isuzu records a profit of 130 percent in the Apr-Mar 2019 period in spite of reporting a 20 percent YoY decline in income in the same period.
SML Isuzu, the Chandigarh-based commercial vehicle manufacturer has announced its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2019 (Q1 CY2019) where it announced its revenue from operations as Rs 429 crore (16% growth over Q1 CY2018;Rs 369 crore). The profits after tax in the same period came to Rs 22 crore, a growth of 47 percent (Q1 CY2018: Rs 14.87 crore).
Considering the whole year ending on March 2019, SML Isuzu has reported a fall of 20 percent in total income from Rs 1,777 crore in FY2017-18 to Rs 1,413 crore in FY2018-19. However, the CV OEM saw a YoY growth of 130 percent in its yearly profits with Rs 19.57 crore.
Products from SML Isuzu includes CNG trucks, tipper chassis, conventional trucks in various segments and buses. As part of its international venture, SML Isuzu had launched Samrat HS light commercial vehicle (LCV) at the recently held second edition of the Indo-Bangla Automotive Show in Dhaka.
